As a Founding Partner of the #GiveHealthy movement, its been great to get to know so many awesome people and organizations. We’re proud to be part of a group of organizations and people working hard to make a difference in the lives of those struggling with hunger.
We’ve been working closely with a terrific food pantry that serves people in and around Greenwich, Connecticut on a CASE STUDY to see what happens when groups begin to organize #GiveHealthy food drives. The short answer: WOW!
WOW! means they raise more food, they raise healthy food and have alot of fun doing it. For Neighbor to Neighbor, besides getting lots of fresh produce and other healthy food, they get to know the people making those donations! 85% of the people making a #GiveHealthy donation were new donors! (or, if they had donated canned goods before, Neighbor to Neighbor had no way to know that).
At Amp – we’re constantly looking for ways to help in more ways than one – its what we talk about and what we know we are designed to do. It’s great to have strong data that backs up what we tell people!
If you live in the Northeast US, spring is the time to plant your seeds. Look for the sprouts and then watch those plants grow.
We (and many, many others) planted a big seed earlier this month with the launch of the #GiveHealthy Movement. It’s sprouted and now its growing! Check out all of the #GiveHealthy Partners, Ambassadors and Advisory Board Members. And more pics below from the #GiveHealthy launch!
We announced #GiveHealthy in March and the #GiveHealthy movement launched at the Broccoli City Festival in Washington DC on May 6, 2017. The Festival is about many things, including great music, culture and social impact. And its about healthy food access, particularly in urban areas. A perfect place to launch our movement to change the most common form of giving in the US so that everyone donates healthy food. Some pretty cool shots of people getting excited and having fun at the #GiveHealthy launch!
We’re partnering with a couple of fantastic organizations who are sponsoring the FIRST, EVER, VEGAN FOOD DRIVE!
These two leading non-profit organizations that advocate for Veganism are sponsoring the drive designed to raise Vegan food to support Chili on Wheels, a NYC based hunger organization that specializes in Vegan Chili, and City Harvest, also based in NYC. They are seeking groups that support Veganism to join the campaign by sponsoring their own Vegan food drive or to become Ambassadors and help spread the word about this unique, first of its kind online food drive. Visit www.veganfooddrive.org for more info.
A Vegan diet is a healthy diet. We keep beating the drum that HUNGER IS A HEALTH ISSUE because it is. What better way to support those struggling with hunger than with Vegan food?
The drive just started and runs until World Vegan Day on November 1, 2017.
